Sonoran Desert Gardens are anything but dry, brown, and lifeless.
An adventure in Desert Gardening - from Chicago girl to Urban Farmer
We purchased our Catalina Foothills home in 2016 after falling in love with the neighborhood. On a nighttime visit as we were deciding to buy it, we discovered a Great Horned Owl sitting on the roof. And then on the way to our final walk through, a coyote crossed our path. We knew we found something special. And we’ve worked hard the past eight years to make it truly magical - over 40 new trees planted along with extensive pollinator and food gardens; plus active and passive rainwater harvesting; and greywater usage (laundry to landscape) as well.
